The Garden

In 2009 with the help of my dad, Dave, and a friend, Mark, I started the Garden to provide fresh produce for a small crowd.  I enjoyed it so much that we are now in our third season and have had the help of a few great people.  I like to provide easy to recognize vegetables, but I also like variety so there are many vegetables we provide that force our members to try some new veggies in their kitchen.  I love growing tomatoes, I find so much satisfaction from pulling a carrot straight out of the ground, and I love the thick, yet delicate, texture of home grown lettuce.  My dad likes the first radishes of the season and he loves digging up potatoes so much that he's always waiting with his potato fork on those harvest days.

2011 SEASON
This year runs 14 weeks from June 2 to September 1, 2011.  Pick up is every Thursday, 4-7 pm at the Garden or at Dana's house in NW Portland.  We can also make special arrangements for other pick up times.  Large shares are $378 ($27/week) for the season and small shares are $210 ($15/week).  Below is an idea of the produce that will be in the harvest bags and when to expect it to start.  Produce is only listed once, but will probably show up many weeks
